Meet Sheneika
Sheneika Simmons is the Founder and Principal Consultant of Simmons Leadership Services. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Ferrum College and a Master of Science in Educational Studies from Johns Hopkins University, and she is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Human and Social Services at Walden University.
Sheneika is deeply committed to advancing afterschool education and professional development. She serves as an Afterschool Coaching for Reflective Educators in STEM (ACRES) facilitator, a White-Riley-Peterson Afterschool Policy Fellow, and a member of the National Afterschool Association’s Board of Directors, where she was also recognized as a Next Generation of Afterschool Leaders. She is a LEAD (School Mental Health Certification) Instructor, a BOOST Café Ambassador, and a Teach For America alumna.
She is a former educator who now works to advance equity and excellence in afterschool and educational programs nationwide. Throughout her career, she has engaged with youth, families, schools, communities, and organizations, bringing expertise and guidance in a variety of roles to support meaningful growth and positive outcomes.
Sheneika is passionate about empowering youth to become the leaders of tomorrow, fostering their curiosity, resilience, and capacity to make meaningful contributions in their communities. She believes that every professional has the potential to strengthen their skills, confidence, and connections, and she is committed to helping individuals and teams unlock that potential. Her work is rooted in the belief that when both youth and adults are supported to thrive, communities flourish.
